SS 310 is also used in cryogenic temperature because of SS 310 great strength, high tensile strength, great yield strength, greater short creep properties and toughness. The grade SS 310 has good resistance to the oxidizing atmosphere at 2000deg, average strength at high pressure and temperature and good toughness at cryogenic temperature.
Its high chromium and nickel contents provide comparable corrosion resistance, superior resistance to oxidation and the retention of a larger fraction of room temperature strength than the common austenitic alloys like Type 304.
